ABSTRACT

In this paper, the vibration responses of the buildings near the subway are calculated by the finite element program, ANSYS. A series of different frequencies' harmonic loads are used to simulate the vibration loads induced by subway trains. The analysis involves 2D finite element dynamic models of soil— structure or tunnel—soil—structure. During the analysis, some factors are considered, including different floors in the same building, the load point acting on the surface of soil or the bottom of tunnel, the different distances between load and building, the different frequencies' loads, and the different types of soil.
