ABSTRACT

In this paper, the general summaries are made of the raise of the problem on traffic induced vibrations of ground environments and the nearby buildings; the research background of this subject in theoretical analyses, numerical simulations and experimental measurements; the characteristics of traffic-induced vibrations and their propagations from the aspects of duration, intensity distribution and the influences of vehicle load and speed; their influences on the daily life of people, the normal operation of instruments and the safety of buildings; the properties of traffic induced vibrations in several railway systems and buildings.
