ABSTRACT
Studies on the environmental ground vibrations in Japan has stemmed from "the environmental vibration pollution" that was legitimated in 1976. The word "environmental vibrations" nowadays includes the structure vibrations due to earthquake and manmade sources as well as due to the wind loadings. The environmental vibration pollution is basically assessed by vibration regulation values based on the vibration perception by human body. This scientific evidence is clearly stated in the issue of ISO 2631 .Concerning to the estimation of the environmental vibrations in Japan, reviewing the historical transition, this paper proposes a new estimation way of environmental ground vibrations.
