ABSTRACT
The value of ungulates as game has stimulated the development of numerous methods for management purposes. Their characteristics have dictated the type of census. Their size and habits have promoted the collection from airplane of data for transect methods. Their production of fecal pellets allowed the use of an index. Their size discouraged the use of capture or recapture methods.
