ABSTRACT
Uinta ground squirrels (Spermophilus armatus) are found from southern Montana south to central Utah at elevations from 1300 to 3000 m. Typically, they live in small aggregations along streams and roadsides, in meadows, and near corrals and buildings. Some understanding of their homeothermic seasonality 1 and habits 2 is important in assessing their numbers.
