Townsend’s Vole (Method)

There are 11 species of Microtus in North America, distributed from the north slope of Alaska to Mexico. The census methods discussed are for Microtus townsendii which we have found to be the most difficult to capture and census. They apply to other species which are trap-shy and whose young are hard to trap.
