ABSTRACT

The paper describes the dynamic analysis of the locomotive transmission mechanism with the tractive effort transmission using the flexible skew-link mechanism. First of all, the transition phenomenon of the locomotive starting is analyzed, when the function of the developing torque from the traction motor is specified. The dynamic characteristics of this arrangement of tractive effort transmission are observed when taking into consideration the adhesion characteristics of the locomotive. The second part of this paper presents an analysis of the vertical vibrations as well as the longitudinal ones for individual locomotive component parts. Said vibrations occur during locomotive running over track irregularities. Obtained results illustrate the advantages of the tractive mechanism containing the flexible member. They yield a complete view of the dynamic solution of the new transmission mechanism.
