ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this study is to examine the applicability of the correlation between the Dutch-cone penetrometer results with soil properties, such as types, consistency, plasticity index, and D50, which were obtained by Soelarno - Ferrynaga. 1990 for Jakarta area, and using soil data from outside Jakarta, South Sumatera, Lampung, Riau. Central Java, East Java and from other places in Aceh, Medan, Bengkulu, Jambi, Jakarta, Bandung, West and East Kalimantan, and Sulawesi.
Results of the study indicate that the correlation of Dutch-cone penetrometer to soil properties obtained by Soelarno and Ferrynaga, 1990 can be concluded as applicable for areas outside Jakarta, and that, there was also no influence of groundwater in the correlation mentioned above.
For the next changes, the author will examine the results of this study using data from the east part of Indonesia.
