ABSTRACT
In land scarce coastal cities such as Singapore, the viability of an offshore waste disposal facility is seriously considered. For the design of such facilities, the potential of marine pollution from contaminant transport through the containment bund must be carefully studied. This paper describes some preliminary analysis of such nature to study the influence of tidal effects, liner thickness and permeability on the seepage and contaminant transport behaviour of a typical offshore bund.
