ABSTRACT
The work deals with various aspects that have been observed in the field to be desirable for longevity of railway track geotextiles. These involve first the geotextiles desirable physical properties, recommended specification requirements, and production control tests. Second are installation locations, transition zone requirements, depth of installation requirements, and an example of an actual installation. Also discussed is the beneficial effect of a geotextile in relation to frost susceptible underlying materials.
