ABSTRACT
The loss of moisture through evaporation and evapo-transpiration has been the subject of a number of research initiatives. Field studies considering the overall relationships between the atmospheric state and subsequent ground water conditions have been considered (Blight, 1997).
Laboratory studies of evaporation under a controlled environment allow consideration of the influence of particular soil parameters on the process of moisture loss. This paper considers the influence of the soil moisture characteristics on evaporation for a number of clay soils.
