ABSTRACT
In this paper, the behaviour of clay around a pressuremeter is analysed by means of a theoretical study based on an elasto-plastic model in accordance with the theory of generalised standard materials. Menard pressuremeter tests, carried out on clays, are then analysed in order to determine the undrained cohesion. The obtained results are then compared with those determined with other methods.
