ABSTRACT
The paper examines the effect of type of reinforcement on the pullout force in reinforced soil. Three types of reinforcement materials were used in the pullout tests, namely, round steel bar mesh, ribbed steel bar and flat steel bar reinforcement. Five soil types were used in the investigation. The equipment for the pullout test consisted essentially of a metal box filled with soil. The test results of the investigations carried out in this work have indicated that round steel bar mesh reinforcement and ribbed steel bar and ribbed steel bar reinforcement give the highest values of pullout forces.
