ABSTRACT
The authors of this paper had the task to elaborate a new Code with the main purpose to cover the practical problems of the seismic structural design in agreement with the principal-provisions of the general Seismic Code P100-92, existing in Romania. The new Code concerns mainly the multi-storey steel frames. New aspects taken into account are referring to the composite slab, connected to steel beams, and composite or steel shear walls acting as vertical bracing systems. For some basic provisions of existing Code P100-92 improvements are proposed as well.
