ABSTRACT

In the paper an hybrid control system is designed; it consists of the coupling of a base isolation device and an active vibrator, able to bound the isolation absolute acceleration and, consequently, the interstory drifts of the m.d.o.f. superstructure. The procedure implemented and numerically tested on a m.d.o.f. structural system has shown to be able to significantly mitigate the structural response with a minimum employ of energy.
