ABSTRACT

Lobesia botrana (Dennis and Schiff.) in the Kavala area, and particularly in the biotopes of Nea Peramos, Elevtheres and Eleochori, produces three full generations per year on vines between 15 April and the end of August. There is probably the start of a fourth generation during the period September-November, the grape-picking period. Observations are continuing in these areas. In 1984 the flight of the second generation lasted 37 days and that of the third 42. In 1985 the flight of the first generation lasted 42 days, that of the second 28 and that of the third 34. The second generation laid its eggs on the leaves of the vine rather than on the clusters. This generation was observed between 4–9 June and 3 July 1985 in the above-mentioned areas. Eupoecilia (Cochylis) ambiguella Hb. was observed in Greece for the first time in 1985 in the area of Kavala in the Nea Peramos biotope during June, July and August. The dominant species caught by the sex pheromone traps was L. botrana. 23.3% of the adults captured belonged to the species E. ambiguella.
