ABSTRACT

Perizin®, a new drug for Varroa control was registered in December 1985. This new drug should be used during late autumn or early winter. Only little field data were available on treatment of bee colonies with Perizin® in early spring. On 11.3. and 18.3., Perizin® was applicated to 13 colonies. 99.2% of the mites had been killed. Another experiment showed that the bee colonies tolerate the treatment. Later on we tried treatment of artifical swarms. A method was developed by which more than 95% of the mites can be killed with a single application of Perizili®. This method is using the equipment and dosage as provided within the registration.
