ABSTRACT
The aim of this chapter is to propose an approach that hospitals can use to help them determine which criteria should be improved for their preparedness levels for a pandemic. The proposed approach includes the application of the entropy weighting method (EWM) which is one of the multi-criteria decision-making approaches to determine criteria that have an effect on the preparedness level for a pandemic. EWM considers variability between preparedness criteria values for different hospitals and it can transform this variability to criteria weights. In this context, five public hospitals in Turkey were considered to evaluate their preparedness levels for pandemics.
