ABSTRACT

Agriculture is the backbone of every individual to survive. But due to the lack of technological support to the farmers, agricultural practices have slowly started diminishing. To uplift the agriculture and the technology involved in it, an acquisition system has been developed to monitor the environmental condition that exists in the field through the cloud using IoT. The IoT mainly connects these sensor values to the Internet through a LoRa wireless area network where each datum in the irrigation node is collected at the receiver. A wireless area network is created in the agricultural farm through LORA WAN. The accumulated data about the farm’s condition act as a data center and the data are being placed in the cloud through open source. By viewing the condition of the farm, the time consumption and workload of the farmer are reduced to a large extent. Thus, this work is implemented through the LoRa-based IoT with Raspberry Pi module to compute the data of the farm. Additionally, it controls the motor and valve of the farm for irrigation purposes. Ultimately, this minimizes the farmer’s manpower, water consumption through the irrigation process, and hence supports farming with wireless remote technology.
