ABSTRACT
With the growing appreciation and affection for companion animals comes the willingness to help them and give them a good, long life. Technology in veterinary medicine has been making advances over time including the veterinary orthotic and prosthetic industry. Prosthetics are emerging artificial devices that aim to assist those affected by deformities, incomplete limb development, and traumatic or surgical amputation. There are several types of prostheses and different suspension systems, so there is a solution depending on the problem presented. 3D printing is a growing field of great interest in the prosthetics industry as it allows fast, practical, and cheap manufacturing. This review article presents the different prosthetic limb replacements in dogs to provide them a better quality of life.
