ABSTRACT

Nowadays, spatial planning processes are still top down, technocratic, and tend to be project based. As a result, implementation of spatial planning product isn’t optimal. So that, it's necessary role of community in spatial planning, especially in village spatial planning. It's in line with Islamic empowerment principles which includes 3 principles, namely ukhuwwah, ta'awun, and equality. The aim of study is analyze the Islamic empowerment principles in village spatial planning activities. Community empowerment activities carried out in the research involve community in collecting data and information for planning process. It's done by ground checks and focus group discussions (FGD). The output of this activity is a mapping of community socio-economic conditions which were discussed in FGD. The community learned to express opinions and discuss problem solving. This study analyze that processes to build community empowerment in village spatial planning based on three Islamic principles.
