ABSTRACT
Due to low public awareness on environmental safety, various natural disasters have been occurred, reducing their quality of life. The community needs a guidance to improve their perspectives, attitudes and behavior towards the environment, and this can be performed through da’wah practices. The aim is to reveal the knowledge and understanding of da’wah about protecting the environment from an Islamic perspective, ethics and aesthetics of da’wah, rhetoric of da’wah, as well as being an impressive speaker. The results show that the understanding of the da’i candidates regarding to protect the environment from an Islamic perspective is at a moderate level with low tendency, so does with an understanding of the ethics and aesthetics of da’wah. Meanwhile, for understanding the rhetoric of da’wah, as well as being an impressive speaker are at similar level which high with medium tendency. Therefore, equipping and encouraging strength as well as assistance for da’wah to convey messages of da’wah that contain environmental issues in a memorable and effective manner is an urgent matter to do, the da’wah message can embrace the needs of community and help to provide solutions to these issues.
