The news that is interesting to study about this phenomenon is the coverage of the Novel Baswedan case. The reason is that this case caused controversy and involved many interests. Researchers used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews and literature studies. The subjects of this study were the editors of Hidayatullah.com and Republika Online (ROL). The results showed that the two media practiced Islamic journalism with different focuses. Hidayatullah.com puts forward amar maruf nahi munkar, while ROL prioritizes tabayyun.
