ABSTRACT

The Government Regulation of halal product assurance force all enterprises, including Micro Business enterprises to have a Halal certificate. Lack of knowledge is one of the problems to obtain halal certificates. The training aims to increase awareness and knowledge for micro-businesses around the Unisba, so that they can prepare a halal assurance system for their products and apply for halal certification independently. The methodology used is a descriptive method by distributing questionnaires before and after the training. After the training, the knowledge of micro-entrepreneurs regarding the criteria for halal products has increased from 55% to 100%. Barriers or obstacles for participants to apply for halal certification are 58% procedure, costs 55%, and time 42%. Challenges for micro-businesses are allocating costs for making a halal certification, increase knowledge about halal products and the use of information technology for online halal certification, and be consistent in the manufacture of halal products.
