Associated with every type of particle there is an ANTIMATTER particle with the opposite quantum numbers. For example, the positron (charge +1) is the antiparticle of the electron (charge −1), and the antiproton (charge −1, baryon number −1) is the antiparticle of the proton (charge +1, baryon number +1)
