ABSTRACT
Coronal cavities observed on the Sun are an important part of a complex and larger coronal magnetic structure. They appear as regions of low emission surrounding PROMINENCES and separate the prominence from an overlying arcade of CORONAL LOOPS located in the lower portion of a helmet streamer (see CORONAL STREAMERS)
