Cosmic rays are high-energy ions and electrons with energies greater than about 1–10 MeV, which originate generally beyond the solar system. They consist of galactic cosmic rays (GCR) which come from the Galaxy and beyond, and the anomalous cosmic ray (ACR) component, which comes from the outer region of the heliosphere
