ABSTRACT
The Astronomical Society of Australia (ASA) was formed in 1966. It has a membership of professional astronomers and has as its objectives `the promotion and extension of knowledge of Astronomy and related branches of science'. The business of the ASA is conducted by an elected Council. It is represented on a number of astronomical bodies such as the National Committee for Astronomy
