ABSTRACT
Radiation, consisting of an electric and a magnetic disturbance, which travels in a vacuum at a characteristic speed known as the velocity of light (approximately 300 000 km s−1). In other words, a light wave consists of periodically varying changes in electric and magnetic fields.
