ABSTRACT

Two Russian/Soviet solar physics and astronomy satellites. Coronas-I was launched December 1992. The much delayed Coronas-F may fly in 1999–2000. Designed to observe the solar atmosphere from near-Earth orbit, and to observe solar activity and magnetospheric solar effects. Instruments include x-ray spectrometers, multilayer imaging telescopes, coronagraphs and detectors for helioseismology.
