COS-B (Celestial Observation Satellite)

European gamma ray astronomy satellite launched in 1975. Also carried a small x-ray detector. Remained in operation until April 1982. Conducted a sky survey, detected some 25 sources of gamma rays, including the Crab and Vela pulsars.
