ABSTRACT
The brightest radio source in the constellation of Cassiopeia and the brightest cosmic radio source in the entire sky. It is a supernova remnant, an expanding cloud of gas that was ejected in a catastrophic stellar explosion. From the present size and rate of expansion of the cloud, the explosion that created it must have occurred around the year 1660
