ABSTRACT

The star α Aquilae, a white star of apparent magnitude 0.76, spectral type A7IV–V. The brightest star in the constellation of the Eagle, it forms with Deneb and Vega part of the great Summer Triangle of stars which dominate the midsummer night sky. Situated at a distance of 16.8 light-years, with a parallax of 0.194'', it has an absolute magnitude of 2.2. Believed to be about 1
