A readily recognizable group or arrangement of (usually bright) stars, which are not necessarily members of a single constellation. Well-known examples are the Plough (part of the constellation Ursa Major), and the False Cross, the Summer Triangle and the Square of Pegasus, all of which comprise stars from more than one constellation
