ABSTRACT
The results of what the soot from the engine named Vikas has done to the human house are clearly visible. Melting glaciers, shrinking land and rising heat are making their presence felt in full force. Man, who considers himself to be the best creature of the Earth, has disturbed the seasonal cycle of nature for some time due to undesired deeds; its solid, liquid and gaseous balance has collapsed, as has its cold temperature regulation, which has made man a part of nature in this century. The great scourge that will have to be faced is ‘globalization’ or ‘global warming’. Building smarter cities is one part of the solution. Smart metering will bring a plethora of new energy-saving ideas to the table. Smart meters can also help convert a parked electric vehicle into a battery that can store and feed electricity back into the grid.
