ABSTRACT

This chapter defines the necessary passenger capacity of the transitway, its mass and overall dimensions, as well as the power of the hybrid power plant. It is shown that in the previous stage, the manoeuvrability of the bus rapid transit (BRT) can be viewed on wheels rigid in the lateral direction. Due to the selected layout parameters of the transitway, its manoeuvrability does not correspond to the operating normative documents. The kinematic and power modes of rotation of the trailer to improve the manoeuvrability of the transitway are considered. The necessary angles of rotation of the driven wheels of the first or second trailer are set. The advantages of the power of rotation of the trailer wheels are shown. The required torque difference on the trailer wheels is determined, in which the radius of rotation of the BRT should be the same as that of the first trailer controlled by the kinematic turning method. At the steady speed of rotation of 5/s, and variable speed and its connection with the radius of rotation to ensure the required level of BRT manoeuvrability, the difference torque on the wheels of the trailer should not be less than 275 Nm. Indicators of the BRT manoeuvrability, defined on the rigid sideways of the wheels, require an analytical and experimental verification, taking into account the lateral removal of the wheels of the transitway. Further research will be devoted to this.
