ABSTRACT

Based on an analysis of the methods of signal processing and measurement of physical quantities, a high-precision method for determining the distance between a garbage truck and a waste bin of municipal solid wastes was developed which takes into account the environmental parameters and can be used in the development of highly efficient special vehicles for the transportation of waste as the first stage in the process of the collecting and primary processing of municipal solid wastes. The structural diagram of the new method and a flowchart of the microcontroller control program for determining the distance are presented. The main characteristics of the proposed product are shown. The results of experimental tests for measuring the distance using the new method tailored to environmental parameters are shown. The results of the experimental research, presented in the written part, show that taking into account the environmental parameters (such as the atmospheric pressure and the temperature and relative humidity of the air) can significantly reduce the error of measurement, and the proposed method is suitable for determining the distance between a garbage truck and a waste bin of municipal solid wastes.
