ABSTRACT

The role of Big Data in smart cities has a huge contribution to today's world. The key awareness of smart cities is to improve the population's growth and encourage cost-effective development while conserving sustainability. There is an enormous amount of data seen in smart cities. All data should be maintained properly. Smart cities use multiple technologies for development in fields such as health sectors, water services, education, transportation, agriculture, etc. The challenges of Big Data in smart cities are discussed in this chapter. The crucial challenge discussed in this study is security risks happening in smart cities. With the usage of Big Data, this challenge of security risk will be rectified. In smart cities, maintaining the public database will be a huge task. Thus, maintaining its privacy and security must also be a certain risk. Datasets taken in this study are energy-consumption readings of various samples in different cities. Several sectors that include smart cities are enchanting advanced steps to transform this ability into greater contributions.
