ABSTRACT

A typical project management methodology (PMM) will facilitate knowledge management, repeatability, comparability, quality, and future impact. GRIDALL (goals, risks, issues, decisions, actions, lessons learned) is a project management framework that supports the development of a comprehensive and connected PMM. It can be used by Project Management Offices (PMOs) to pick the tool that best meets the needs of their organization, and by project managers to pick the best tool for the specific project situation. It can serve as a framework to assess the completeness and effectiveness of an organization’s PMM. It is also a useful model for communicating project information, via the concept of “linking it back” to the upstream component. This chapter provides an overview of the GRIDALL framework and best practices for implementing GRIDALL in your organization.
