ABSTRACT

The fourth step of the GRIDALL process is to make a decision that resolves the issue. Decisions commit the organization to action, by allocating either funds, resources, or both. This chapter presents some principles of decision-making that every project manager should know. It also describes governance structures that enable fast and effective decision-making within biopharma companies. Finally, it outlines a five-step process for making decisions: setting the context, defining decision-making roles, gathering information, making the decision, and documenting and implementing the decision. This process is intended to resolve the issue and get the project on track.
