Mobile technologies have become an importance tool for human activities in every setting, including the health sector. Mobile devices, apps and platforms facilitated health service delivery during the dreaded COVID-19 lockdown. This chapter examines the application of mobile technologies in healthcare setting during the COVID-19 lockdown. Data were collected through structured questionnaires administered online to 100 participants made up of physicians/doctors, nurses, hospital support/administrative staff and others selected from Southwest Nigeria. The findings show that mobile technologies were prevalent among the participants. The use of mobile devices/apps and platforms significantly enhanced healthcare during the COVID-19 lockdown as shown in the study. Mobile enhances medical; access, case reporting, contact tracing, timely response, examinations, diagnosis, information dissemination, communication, data mining/management, research, education and remote clinics during the COVID-19 lockdown. Also, we found that the use of mobile technologies assisted healthcare workers to remotely engage their patients, colleagues and families during the lockdown. The chapter concludes that mobiles are fast becoming part of medical equipment and essential component of healthcare. Thus, if the potential is properly harnessed, it could effectively enhance patient care and the efficiencies of health workers.
