ABSTRACT

The strong coupling effect between attached air bubble and spark-generated bubble, which considers the structural deformation effect, is investigated experimentally using a flexible plate of PVC material and a spark-generated bubble. Numerous interesting and complex behaviors of the bubble, which depend strongly on the attached air bubble and deformation effect of the structure, are found through a high-speed camera. The jetting of the bubble in the vicinity of the flexible plate of different thicknesses is compared. To gain a better understanding of the interaction of bubble and multi-boundary coupling, the displacement time history curves at the center point of the flexible structure and the top and bottom vertices of the bubble are received. The motion response mode of the flexible plate under the bubble loading is explored to summarize the deformation pattern of the flexible structure and the motion characteristics of bubble.
