ABSTRACT

The internet has always been a bit of a minefield for finding correct information from reliable sources and reputable people. Until now, DeepFakes (DFs) have often been used in something silly like a celebrity face swap or putting one person’s voice on someone else’s face, but it goes much further than that. Going one step further, you can bring back actors from the dead—for example, a sequel of any famous movie franchise needed to use those actors again. Museums are looking to get historical characters back to life, such as John F. Kennedy or Gandhi. Having historic events recreated with real people and voices would enhance the learning experience dramatically. Disney, the very famous enterprise known for kid’s entertainment, has also recently announced how it would use this technology to bring back actors who are not alive anymore. From customizing media for users to creating high-end graphics in sci-fi movies, this technology might become quite common in the entertainment industry in the coming years.
