ABSTRACT

Agriculture is by far the most important aspect of the Indian economy. Diseases in plants that grow in a variety of environmental settings are quite common and natural. The quality of the harvest also suffers as a result of this. Farmers’ largest difficulty now, with recent changes in climate cycles, is achieving the best quality and quantity of crops. Plant diseases can be identified by digital image processing. Deep learning has made significant advancements in digital image processing in recent years, greatly outpacing standard image processing and machine learning methods. A research issue of interest is how to examine and investigate deep learning technology in the identification of plant leaf diseases is of great interest to researchers. This work offers a basic scenario of the detection of foliar plant diseases from the point of view of image processing and machine learning, as well as the detection of plant diseases based on deep learning. It also provides comparable performance of deep learning-based plant leaf disease detection versus traditional machine vision-based plant leaf disease detection using multiple machine learning algorithms.
