ABSTRACT
Global pandemic of virus has adversely affected human health across the countries and has given rise to machine learning algorithms for their analysis. Also, shortage of healthcare workers in rural areas has led to the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) based telehealth systems where the patients can get real time monitoring of their health through remote interactions with the experts in the respective fields. In this chapter applications of machine learning for rural healthcare are discovered. For instance, machine-based techniques used to develop smart bandages at ease in short time duration are discussed. Also, how the same technology can be used in cell phones so that a person sitting at a distant place can be emotionally helped with along with warning the listener of the stress level of the speaker is proposed. Further, machine learning algorithms for analysis of dermatological diseases and classification of phono-cardiographic signals are discussed.
