ABSTRACT
To ensure food availability for a growing population and to uplift the social and financial status of agriculture, several novel technological advancements have been adopted. In recent times, agrochemicals have gained enormous popularity to serve the purpose. Previously, the impact of agrochemicals was evaluated on the basis of monetary benefits which were availed from the production without prioritizing its impact on the environment. Keeping in view the rapid deterioration of the environment due to excessive use of agrochemicals, different laws and policies were initiated to monitor and to control the application of agrochemicals globally. To ban the illegal use of agrochemicals, laws were strictly implemented, and new technologies have been adopted to pause its discharge into the surroundings. This chapter briefly described the impact of agrochemicals worldwide and the policies and strategies adopted to overcome the impact.
