ABSTRACT
Computer Vision (CV) gives rise to new Internet of Things (IoT) innovation and real-time applications when combined with advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI). This chapter provides a detailed description of CV and its types such as image segmentation, facial recognition, pattern recognition, object detection, edge detection, and feature matching. Furthermore, this chapter provides an evolution of CV and IoT, enhancement of IoT using CV and 5G technology, open challenges, and real-time applications such as automated vehicles, early diagnosis and detection of illness, object detection and tracking using background subtraction (BGS) technique, drone technology, satellite imaging in agriculture, facial recognition smart parking, and forest information.
