ABSTRACT

We are living in the era of the Internet of Things (IoT) which is drastically transforming the way we live. As the number of smart sensors or wearable devices is increasing day by day, the amount and the sensitivity of the shared data or information is also increasing. Threats are not only limited to leakage of information or disruption in services but also can directly influence the physical risk to our non-virtual lives. This chapter provides a brief description of IoT devices used for communication over a network, the possible number of threats, the purpose of attacks, and their security. Overall, this chapter gives a better insight into security threats related to IoT devices so that better security policies can be implemented.
