ABSTRACT

Global warming has negatively affected agricultural production throughout the world attributed by the climate change parameters. The severity of cyclones in Bay of Bengal has triggered speculations about whether it is linked to climate change. The physical changes expected due to sea level rise are, Global climate change is often considered as one of the major factors causing biodiversity loss. Changes in the habitats where species occupy and changes to the composition of plant and animal communities are considered as key drivers of climate change on biodiversity in a place. However, horticultural crops have certain advantages of mitigating climate change and offer climate resilience. However, climate change could depressingly impact horticulture in regions where climate conditions are currently good for production. The climate hazard caused by a tropical cyclone is not just due to winds, but also due to both coastal and freshwater flooding caused by heavy rain linked to tropical cyclones.
