ABSTRACT
Thermal analysis of electronics for reliability generally are performed to demonstrate that the junction temperature of the electronic components can be kept below the derated maximums at qualification temperatures. The analyst will need to meet with the hardware engineer and the environmental environment/reliability engineer to determine what the qualification temperatures usually are, and the reader is referred to the Standards section at the end of this book to discover what the different standards state. A typical qual temperature is 71°C.
